A 19th century summer house on Mobile Bay was in desperate need of renovation. Michael Whaley's long time clients asked him to help transform this dark and rambling home into a light filled beach get away for a large family. For an oceanside summer house, Michael Whaley worked closely with the architect and client to renovate a 19th century Queen Anne style home to meet the needs of a family in the 21st century. After years of neglect, Whaley recreated the charm of the past by adding a sense of history and tradition. Traditonal design features imbue this home with a sense of history from generations past.

For a New York City client with a beach house in the Hamptons, Michael Whaley Interiors created a little oceanside glamour for very social couple who loves to entertain. Dressy events are held in the sublime Living Room in shades of celadon, grey, cream and blue. A bright aqua and lime green palette envelopes the bay front Family Room where a custom wool and silk rug of contemporary design adds drama to crips linens and chenilles on bench made upholstery and stylish McGuire furniture. the navy and white Kitchen is the center of the house where more McGuire in bright white brings a "vacation" vibe to the space. During the summer months the outdoor areas furnished in McKinnon and Harris furniture are a haven in the sun. Venetian Plaster, painted glass walls, grass cloth and Chinoiserie wall papers make the house cozy and special.
